ALBA George Watt Prize Essay Contest

IP Video Contest

This scholarship is for individuals ages 13 years and older residing in the United States, the District of Columbia, and territories and possessions of the United States. To apply, applicants must create a video of no more than 60 seconds in length that answers one of four given questions related to patented inventions. Applicants between the ages of 13 and 18 must be enrolled full-time in an accredited secondary, college level, or trade school. Applicants who are home schooled are also eligible to participate. KAM House Buyers Scholarship

This scholarship is for high school seniors and current college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors with demonstrated academic achievement and leadership. Applicants are asked to write an essay in 800-1000 words describing what they believe it takes to become a successful entrepreneur.

 

BMW of Freeport Scholarship

Applicants must submit a 1,000 to 1,500-word essay on what motivates them to succeed. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be in good standing with their academic institution. Applicants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian. The essay must be submitted as a PDF. See website for further detail.

 

Melissa Read Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who are currently enrolled in or actively applying for enrollment to an undergraduate program, including technical, community, and four-year colleges. Applicants are asked to submit an essay explaining the worst financial decision they have made and what they learned from it. The deadline to apply is August 1, 2017; however, only the first 100 essays submitted will be considered.

 

KidGuard Essay Scholarship for Universities

This scholarship is for any student currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program. Applicants are asked to write an essay on whether social media truly connects us, or on whether teachers and schools should have the authority to regulate students' social media accounts. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to the winning candidate, and a $500 scholarship will be awarded to the finalist.

 

International Women in Media Scholarship

This scholarship is for high school seniors and current college students who are interested in journalism. The application involves creating a web page outlining the accomplishments of a notable female journalist. Further details are available on the website.

 

Unpakt College Scholarship

This scholarship is available to college students or recent college graduates (within one year). To apply, applicants must submit an essay of 500 words or less explaining where they plan to move after they finish their education and why. First, second, and third place winners will receive scholarships in the amounts of $1,000, $500 and $100 respectively.

 

Writer’s Square Essay Contest

This scholarship is open to students in first grade through college, and requirements vary by school level. This writing contest takes place three times per year. For the current session (open 4/1/2017-6/30/2017), applicants must write an essay about their most important piece of technology. High school students must write a 1,000-word essay and college students must write a 1,500-word essay. Winners are invited to the Writers’ Square Awards Banquet. Essays may be written in English or Chinese language.

 

Abbott & Fenner Scholarship

This scholarship is for high school juniors and seniors as well as students currently registered at an accredited college or university. To qualify, applicants must submit an essay discussing their educational career and life goals.

 

A-1 Auto Transport Scholarship

This scholarship is for any full- or part-time student currently attending an accredited institute and who has a GPA of at least 3.0. Applicants are asked to write an essay or article of at least 1,000 words related to a topic on the website. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the deadline. Non-U.S. citizens are welcome to apply.

 

Inverters R Us Power Scholarship

This merit-based scholarship is for students who have a passion for alternative power. To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university in Fall 2017.

 

Bruce Lee Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who are 16 years of age or older and who will be attending or are already attending a two-year college, four-year university, or licensed trade or vocational school in the United States. Criteria used in evaluating applicants include, but is not limited to, involvement in extra-curricular activities/community service/work experience, future potential, and knowledge of Bruce Lee. International students who are studying in the U.S. are welcome to apply. Four scholarships in the amount of $2,500 and one scholarship in the amount of $10,000 will be awarded.

 

Platt Family Scholarship Prize Essay Contest

This scholarship essay contest is for full-time undergraduate students at American colleges or universities. To apply, applicants must submit an essay addressing the topic, "Lincoln and the Hard Hand of War." To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have been enrolled as full-time college students during the spring 2017 semester. Applicants do not need to be American citizens to apply as long as they are attending an American college or university during the eligibility period.

 

Ayn Rand

This essay contest is for high school seniors, college undergraduates, and graduate students. To participate in this contest, applicants must read the book, "Atlas Shrugged," by Ayn Rand and write a essay between 800 and 1,600 words in response to one of the prompts listed on the contest website. Monica’s Health Magazine Academic Scholarship Program

This scholarship is for students who are currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program at an accredited university or college, or high school seniors with a valid acceptance letter to an accredited institution. Applicants are asked to submit an essay outlining why and how staying healthy has contributed to their lives.

 

AEL Collegiate Essay Contest

This essay contest is for current undergraduate college and university students in the United States who are US citizens. Each student is allowed one essay on the following prompt: "Describe your understanding of American exceptionalism, and, drawing an example from current events, discuss how that example demonstrates American exceptionalism in global relations, freedom, and/or democracy." Essays must be between 1,500 and 2,000 words in length and will be judged not on the basis of agreement or disagreement with the views of Americanism Educational Leaders or on the length of their bibliographies, but on their internal logic, coherence, originality, thoughtfulness, and evidence of sound research.

 

Airport Rentals Scholarship

This scholarship is for anyone attending college in the U.S. who is interested in innovation and creative problem solving in a global business setting. This award amount is valid towards tuition and fees at any U.S. educational institutes that have chosen to partner with Airport Rentals for this scholarship.

 

B. Davis Scholarship

This scholarship is for all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered at any postsecondary institution. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must submit an essay addressing the following prompt: "Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual."

 

Outstanding Chapter Goals Awards

This award will be presented to the chapter who has best shown exemplary efforts. Applicants must present a three-minute video or PowerPoint presentation at the Alpha Phi Sigma National Conference.

 

Noplag Scholarship Essay Contest

This scholarship is for high school and university students who are at least 16 years of age. Applicants must submit an essay of at least 700 words on a suggested topic. See website for essay topics, guidelines, and other information.

 

AfterCollege Sales & Marketing Student Scholarship

This scholarship is for students working toward a career in sales or marketing. It is open to all majors. To apply, students first must create a profile on the AfterCollege account. The scholarship committee will review applicants' profiles to determine the scholarship recipient.

Wpromote Digital Marketing Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who are currently enrolled in a college or university with a strong interest in digital marketing. Applicants are asked to compose a 500-word blog post explaining how they would run a digital marketing campaign for their school. The first place winner will receive a Macbook Pro and $500 cash, and the second and third place winners will receive $750 and $500 respectively.

 

IWSH Essay Scholarship Contest

This scholarship is for high school seniors and currently enrolled college students at an accredited institution. Applicants must submit an essay on the following topic: "IAPMO formed its new foundation - the International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation (IWSH) - to help provide safe access to clean water and sanitation systems. Financially Fit in Your 40s: A Financial Poise Essay Contest for Undergraduates

This contest is for current undergraduate/grad students enrolled at an accredited college or university. Applicants must submit an essay on how to achieve financial success by a person's 40's. Open to all majors, but students focused in business, economics, pre-law, marketing, journalism, English may be particularly well-suited to the essay topic. AED Superstore College Scholarship

Applicants first must read the six facts about SCA and automated external defibrillators (AEDs) listed on the AED Superstore's website. Then, students must write a 500-word essay that addresses one of the points outlined by AED Superstore. Applicants have the option to submit a three-minute video instead of an essay.

 

Welding Stars Scholarship

This scholarship is for students with an interest in welding, engineering, and/or marketing. Applicants are asked to write a 1,000-word research-based essay on a given topic. To apply, students must be enrolled in a school or college/university and at least 18 years of age.

 

uPONICS Hydroponics/Aquaponics Scholarship

This scholarship is for any student who is attending an accredited U.S. college or university and interested in hydroponics, aquaponics and/or sustainable agriculture. Applicants are asked to write a well-researched essay between 1,000 and 3,500 words that relates to how hydroponics and/or aquaponics is a sustainable method of agriculture. Students with a focus in agriculture, business, environmental sciences, and engineering are encouraged to apply.

 

AlgaeCal Health Scholarship

This scholarship is for college students currently attending a school in the United States or Canada. Applicants must download and fill out an AlgaeCal Health Scholarships Application Form and write an essay up to 750 words, describing “If you could, what, if any, changes to programs, policies, and education etc. would you implement for the general health/ well being of the average modern person?â€?

 

RCJudge Scholarship

StudySoup Future Innovator Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who exemplify one or more of StudySoup’s core values: Be a Knight; Make an Impact; Succeed Together. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and either currently attending high school (or equivalent) and will be attending an accredited university or college in the next academic year, or currently attending an accredited university or college (undergraduate and graduate students are both eligible). The Titan Web Agency Scholarship Program

Applicants must be attending a two-or-four year accredited college or university. To apply, students must submit an essay detailing why they want to be an entrepreneur, as well as a creative photo that they feel represents them best. Minorities are encouraged to apply.

 

ExpressVPN Future of Privacy Scholarship

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must submit a 450 to 600-word essay on one of the topics provided by ExpressVPN. Applicants must attend school in in the US, but do not need to be citizens. Essays must be written in English. The scholarship recipient will receive $5,000, and five runner-ups will each receive a 12-month VPN subscription.

 

Alma Adams Truth Initiative Scholarship

This scholarship is to support undergraduate and graduate students who are innovatively confronting tobacco use. This scholarship will be awarded based on creative community service that reflects four major tobacco-control related issues: smoke-free environments, social justice, tobacco product flavors and point-of-sale (where tobacco products are sold).
